本片描写的是一个脾气暴躁的盲上尉法斯托，在副官西西欧的陪伴下从都灵赶往那不勒斯的一段旅途中发生的故事。名义上上尉是去见一个军中的朋友，那人在一次军事行动中不幸毁容。实际上，上尉打算在那儿自杀。法斯托并不想让别人可怜他。在途经罗马时，他找来牧师为他作一次祈祷。他让西西欧为他找来美丽的女人。法斯托不满西西欧的描述，他要用他的鼻子闻香识女人。他随身还带着过去的恋人莎拉的照片，他无法忍受以现在的面貌去见她。当最后行将自杀时，莎拉出现在他的面前，西西欧也从这次旅行中感悟到许多人生的真谛。

城市中的爱情面貌，特别是以女性为主体所讲述和展示的都市百态。片中的演员都是普通的城市居民，讲述的也都是真实的故事，说它是一部电影，更象是一个调查，一种视角，一种事实的呈现。 Tentato Suicidio 自杀：遭受情变，恋人或未婚夫的遗弃。有部分假自杀的行为，只是希望以此使身边人回心转意，在遭受冷落后，转为真自杀。方式各异，服药，撞车，割腕，溺水…… Paradiso Per tre ore 天堂三小时：舞场三小时，天堂三小时。各种舞步，各种人物形态的交织。巧妙之处恐怕文字难以表述。 Agenzia matrimoniale 婚介：敬业婚介工作者为各色的男人物色合适的老婆。即使是残疾者或者——一个狼人。而贫困的女子为了摆脱困境愿意接受甚至嫁给一个狼人的婚姻。因为，至少她可以衣食有着落。 Storia di Caterina 卡特琳娜式的故事：贫困并且受到驱逐令的女子。带着其私生子到处流浪，走投无路之下，她遗弃儿子。却又因为实在不忍心，而去认领。悲惨却视角冰冷的社会故事。 Gli italiani si voltano 意大利人的回首：街道，各色女子，腰臀轻摆。也许，某个擦肩而过，甚至只是一瞥之下的女子会惹的你不自禁的回眸。或者是因为脸庞清秀，或者因为体态丰韵，或者因为着装出众——这副生动的风情画卷正是基与此。

初恋1978

I saw this film twice on my first trip to Italy (my first European trip, so it already was magical) and loved it, which was high praise, since I'd only been studying Italian for a few months, on my own. As I remember, it's the story of a man in an old actors home who wins a lottery, and runs away with a pretty worker from the home. He is taken advantage of, I remember, but exactly how...? I have looked for this film on video, and I think United Artists may offer it, but perhaps only in Europe. I would love to see it again...Ugo Tognazzi was a wonderful actor, and expressed many things simultaneously, as he did in La Cage Aux Folles. Lucky you if you can see the movie. I was in love with my Primo [Italian] Amore at the time, so perhaps memory has sweetened recollection. But I think it was lots of fun to watch.　　I found this film one of the saddest ones which I've ever seen. Dino Risi is a brilliant director and made a great film which shows the aging. Ugo Tognazzi plays the actor who feels too young to be in an "old actor's house". He just can't stand the rules and the other old people so he escape with a young girl. The sad part comes from here because the girl wants her freedom, doesn't love the man and cheats him with other guys. In fact she never told the man that she loved him.

安逸人生

故事发生在1962年的意大利，盛夏正浓，罗伯特（让-路易·特兰蒂尼昂 Jean-Louis Trintignant 饰）是一个年轻而又内向的学生，不善言辞的他总喜欢将自己的小小心思隐藏在心底。布鲁诺（维托里奥·加斯曼 Vittorio Gassman 饰）是一名事业有成的中年男子，他的脸上写满了一个成功男人会有的那种自豪的骄傲，对自己创立的“丰功伟业”如数家珍。<br>命运让这两个八竿子打不到一起的人相遇了，他们成为了前往托斯卡纳旅游的旅伴。刚开始，罗伯特非常的崇拜布鲁诺，觉得他简直就是人生赢家的典范，但随着时间的推移，布鲁诺渐渐暴露出了他反复无常精于算计的一面，最终，罗伯特明白了，看任何人都不能只看表象。
